Time and time again, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) has proved its competence, whether it’s huge, blazing fires that threaten to engulf whole buildings…
Or just social media savvy posts that win the hearts of Netizens.
Rolling into the weekend be like…#TGIF!Mad 📽 skillz: Full-Time National Serviceman SGT Yusry Jumari from Tuas View Fire Station. Cast from Tuas View Fire Station.

Indeed, as I’ve stated before…
They’re good at lots of things.
Damn.
And it seems that they’ve done it again
If you’ve been browsing social media sites recently, you might’ve noticed this viral trend going around right now:
Titled the #BottleCapChallenge, the challenge is pretty simple:
Get that cap off the bottle, with a (flashy) kick.
Here, you can watch various personalities attempt the challenge down below:
And well, as you might’ve surmised from the headline, the SCDF has done their own version of it.
Though it might be a lil… different from what you were expecting.
Featuring a firefighter and an… object of mass destruction, the poor bottle cap stood no chance.
None at all.
Here, you can watch the actual clip down below:
Behind-the-scene look at our lifesavers' forcible entry training 👀jk jk 🤣 don't worry, our #bottlecapchallenge was done in good fun and with safety consideration (seriously don't try this at home).Have a great weekend!📹: Sentosa Fire Station

Also, accompanying the video is the caption:

Well, considering how it’s the SCDF we’re talking about…
I don’t think there’s any safer than that.
Netizens rave about it
Posted on 6 July at 11:23 a.m., the video has since gone on to garner over 1.2K likes and reactions, 84 comments as well as 600 shares.
Netizens were also largely complimentary of the SCDF’s efforts, with some wondering whether they should do it too.
And there was even some friendly ‘poking’ from fellow SCDF firefighters as well.
All in all, it seems to have been a field day for the SCDF.
Increased social media reach plus a way for the SCDF to chill before they’re summoned.
Best of both worlds.
Other social media stunts
Apart from the aforementioned incidents, the SCDF has also pulled off intricacies like…
This kidnap meme they came up in response to the infamous GO-JEK incident.
As well as a classic April Fool’s Prank.
Revolutionising our ambulance response. Presenting: ACE#GiveWayToEmergencyVehicles

And an honest to goodness music video.
Like damn, how cool can these guys get?
A Homely Reunion That's Away From Home
Here’s our very own in-house CNY music video entitled: ‘A homely reunion that's away from home’. Whatever the occasions, The Life Saving Force will always be there for you. From all of us in SCDF, “Gong Xi Fa Cai / Happy Looooong Holidays!” #ANationOfLifesavers
