Unlike fiction, reality can, at times, be unreasonable.

For instance, crimes in a fictionalised world almost always occur with a reason, whether it’s poverty, hunger or a wish to feed their family.

But in reality, that’s not always the case.

Take the following instance, for example. A man seems to have scratched this poor Gojek driver’s car… for no real explicable reason.

Man in CCK Scratched Parked Car and Almost Hit Gojek Driver when Escaping

According to Stompthe incident occurred at Lot 79 of the open-air carpark located at Block 302 Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4, at around 5.25pm.

A Gojek driver had gone for a toilet break when a man clad in a blue long-sleeved shirt began walking towards the former’s stationary car.

For some reason, the culprit then decided to scratch the vehicle.

When the Gojek driver eventually made his return, the perpetrator allegedly got into his own car and hastily drove off.

“The Gojek driver entered the carpark because he wanted to go for a toilet break,” said Stomper Anonymous, who reportedly owns the car rental company. “He parked next to the culprit’s car.”

“The culprit scratched the Gojek driver’s car. When he saw the Gojek driver walking back to his vehicle, he panicked, jumped into his car and sped off, nearly hitting the Gojek driver.”

Apparently, a lorry driver happened to witness the incident and has offered to be a witness.

The Stomper added: “The lorry driver in the video is so kind to share his contact details for the Gojek driver to make a police report. It shows that we still live in a good and civilised society.”

The Gojek driver has since launched a police report.

According to the police, investigations are currently ongoing.

Well-Loved

According to Stomper Anonymous, the Gojek driver is an honest person who works hard to feed his family of five.

His upright personality has also rubbed off on his passengers, who have pledged their support with outstanding 5-star reviews.

Stomper Anonymous said: “The Gojek driver is a sole breadwinner of five. He works hard and volunteers at church, the Boys’ Brigade and grassroots organisations. He never complains, is always honest and pays rent on time.”

“This is his first experience with this crazy unfortunate incident.”

“We feel sorry for the driver and hope to help him catch the culprit to reimburse the repair costs. Even his kakis are asking around.”

The Stomper also expresses a wish for the perpetrator’s imminent arrest, and hopes that by publicising the matter, they can ramp up the intensity of the chase.

“We hope Stomp can help to nab the culprit,” the Stomper stated.

Parked Too Closely?

If a previous case was to be of reference, it’s possible that the act may have been committed because the cars were parked too closely together.

Back in March 2020, 57-year-old Tan Eng Ann was fined S$700 on Monday (Sept 28) for one count of mischief at the basement car park of Jem shopping mall.

According to the report, the victim, a 28-year-old man, had driven to Jem for dinner with his family at about 7.10pm on March 8 last year.

He parked his vehicle to the right of Tan’s car, and beside the pillar.

At about 8.20pm, Tan returned to his car with several plastic bags.

He managed to place the bags in the back seat but had a problem getting into the driver’s seat because the two cars were parked too closely together.

Frustrated, Tan decided to do something to vent his displeasure.

He took out an unidentified object to scratch both left doors of the victim’s vehicle before leaving.

However, it later turned out that it had not been the victim who had poor parking skills, but the perpetrator.

In fact, it was reported that Tan’s car was close to the rightmost boundaries of his lot, with the front right wheel on the white boundary line. On the other hand, the victim’s car was “well within the parking lot”.

In other words, instead of blaming himself for anyhowly parking, Tan vented his anger on the victim’s vehicle, which led to the start of this entire case.

Only time will tell, however, whether the same circumstances applied to the Gojek driver.
