Visitors Advised to Book Time Slots in Sentosa Attractions Before Heading Down After People Were Denied Entry

When it comes to being kiasu, we Singaporeans are in a league of our own.

That’s why large queues were seen all over the country in the very first month that the SingapoRediscovers tourism vouchers were issued.

We could have waited a month to use them, knowing how busy hotels and attractions would be during the holidays.

But we just couldn’t resist our most natural impulses as Singaporeans.

And when everyone rushes to one attraction during the Covid-19 pandemic, a few of them may end up being turned away.

Visitors Advised to Book Time Slots in Sentosa Attractions Before Heading Down After People Were Denied Entry

Heading to a Sentosa attraction that you recently purchased a ticket for? Book a time slot first.

According to The Straits Times, many residents who flocked to these attractions were unable to use their tickets as the attraction was fully booked.

And because many Singaporeans had redeemed their SingapoRediscovers vouchers for experiences in Sentosa, large queues started forming.

On 28 Dec, a check by ST on Monday (28 Dec) found a queue of more than 300 people outside Universal Studios Singapore at 2.30pm.

Some visitors who turned up all excited to visit these attractions were denied entry because they had showed up without booking a time slot.

Even though crowds will ease once students return to school, some Sentosa attractions said time slots would help them reduce overcrowding.

But more importantly for you, it’ll enable you to visit the attraction you paid for.

Difficulties

This is especially important if you’re planning to purchase a Sentosa Fun Pass.

The pass gives you a certain number of tokens which you can use at selected Sentosa attractions.

The issue with the pass is that it’s only valid for two days, so if you turn up without a time slot you may be denied entry and these passes could end up getting wasted.

A Complicated Procedure

The main problem that many visitors faced is that they didn’t even know they had to book a time slot.

Plus, there is no centralised platform that allows visitors to check the availability of time slots.

Worse, different booking platforms offer different time slots for the same attractions that don’t match up with each other.

For now, though, time slots can be booked through e-mail for some attractions or by visiting the attraction’s website.

Some booking platforms are also notifying their customers of the need to book time slots before they head down to the attractions.

So, while we’re already incredibly kiasu, we’ll have to take it to the next level if we don’t want to waste a trip to Sentosa.
