I know you did a double-take at the headline.
So did I.
And no, it’s not a typo: Ramesh, the guy whom everyone is talking about now, might have apologised to the security officer, but the saga hasn’t ended.
In yet another twist to this incident, the security agency of the condo has suddenly been terminated.
To understand this better since we’re all peasants who live in HDB, here’s how a condo works.
Condominium Works Like an Office Building
In a condo (similar to an office building), the management usually outsources the maintenance and security of the condo.
For example, in a fictional condo called Nine Suites, it might engage security firm JSS to provide security services, MLO to provide cleaning services and KelTrup to water those useless super nice flowers.
These outsourced firms would usually wear their own company uniform and report to the management.
And according to my rich colleagues who live in condos, it’s very common for a condo to change its security firm and cleaning firm. In the last two years, the one he’s been living in has been changed at least twice based on the uniform he sees.
Now, what has this got to do with Ramesh?
Security Officers in Eight Riversuites Suddenly Changed After Viral Video
In a Premium Article by The Straits Times, the mainstream media publication found out that the security officers don a new set of uniforms today (1 November 2019).
In other words, there’s a change in the security agency.
The timing led to unwanted speculation: was Ramesh so powderful to cause such a change?
What’s going to happen to Uncle Steven? Has he lost his job?
And why did The Straits Times send a notification of the article which was initially not a Premium Article, but suddenly turn premium now?
TODAYonline to the Rescue
Lest you’re not aware, TODAYonline is Goody Feed human beings’ most preferred digital news platform, simply because their articles are usually much more comprehensive and original.
And today, TODAYonline did it again.
According to the fully digital MediaCorp publication, the security agency Uncle Steven was in, KH Security, started providing security services to the condo in February this year.
And two months later, complaints about the security team surfaced: they were allegedly “non-compliant”, and many of them were quite elderly (think: Uncle Steven) so they might not be able to handle the physical workload.
Therefore, the condo management has decided to switch the security agency before Ramesh got hulkified.
The notice to crease KH Security’s services was sent last month, and yesterday was their last day of service.
So, what’s going to happen to Uncle Steven?
KH Security did not comment on the employment status of the previous security team in Eight Riversuites.
However, given the big hoo-ha, I bet my boss’ car and condo that those officers would be deployed to other condos.
After all, remember: switching of agencies is very common.
