Even when handled properly, food still brings with up a number of bacteria compared to cooked food.

And with viruses like GBS on the rise, everyone ought to be more careful with food preparation and consumption.
Time to avoid eating raw freshwater fish again.
Food Mishandling Mayhem
Or you could be this guy who didn’t give a heck.
Stomp recently reported that The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) is taking enforcement action against an employee at a prata stall at Block 19 Ghim Moh Road.
The stomper noted that he was using the same hand to handle both raw and cooked food.
Said employee also did not wear his mask properly, letting it hang below his lips.
“When other customers reminded him to wear his mask properly, he told them: ‘No one will catch me. Only I will catch them.’
The stomper also said that he even collected money with the same hand used to touch the prata.

He then had enough and reported it to kor kor SFA.
SFA Takes Action
The SFA went down and did their own inspection of the stall and also found another worker who did not wear their mask right.
SFA has carried out enforcement action against the two employees.
“We urge all F&B operators to comply with the requirement, as the wearing of masks is a key measure to reduce the spread of Covid-19 and to protect the health of the individual and those around him.
“We have reminded the operator to ensure that their workers adhere to Safe Management Measures at all times and will continue to monitor the premises.”

They also found that the employees were using tongs to handle the cooked food.
Oh and just a forewarning, you can be fined S$300 if you’re caught not wearing your mask properly or at all.
Looking Out For Safety
With GBS and coronavirus running rampant, taking extra care is important.
You can feedback to the SFA about any errant food stalls over here. Alternatively, you can also report these stalls through the OneService app.
As seen above, the SFA does take this seriously and will take action if enough evidence is provided.

On a personal level, make sure to only buy food product from trusted outlets and maybe avoid raw food for the time being.
Better safe than sorry after all.
