As Mr Chua approached a provision shop under the HDB block, Faisal confronted him without warning or any exchange of words.
The attacker repeatedly punched Mr Chua in the head and face before kicking him in the abdomen. Despite his injuries, the taxi driver managed to push his assailant away and flee into the grocery store for safety.
Mr Chua asked the store clerk to call the police while he personally dialed 999 to report the incident.
The assault left Mr Chua with facial bruises, a mild concussion, and chest muscle strain. He received medical treatment at a hospital and was given three days of medical leave.
Three Workers Attacked in Nearby Carpark
After fleeing from the first attack site, Faisal made his way to an open-air carpark near Block 39 Chai Chee Avenue, where he encountered three workers conducting renovation work.
At about 9:45AM, he struck again by hitting foreign worker Lakhwinder from behind on the neck, causing him to fall to the ground.
Faisal then began pursuing 65-year-old site supervisor Jiang Jin Gui (name transliterated from Mandarin), who immediately ran toward 65-year-old lorry driver Fu Zhi Yi (name transliterated from Mandarin) seeking help.
The attacker punched Mr Fu in the right cheek, causing him to fall to the ground in severe pain and dizziness. He then turned his attention to Mr Jiang, punching him in the head before quickly fleeing the scene.

Swift Police Response Leads to Arrest
According to Shin Min Daily News, the violent incidents prompted at least six calls to the police. One caller described the situation saying, “There’s a crazy man randomly hitting people. He’s shirtless and has tattoos, but he doesn’t appear to be armed.”
Authorities quickly identified Faisal and arrested him at his home around 10:30AM on the same day.
Faisal has since pleaded guilty to three charges of voluntarily causing hurt. The judge sentenced him to 15 weeks in jail after taking into account another charge of public nuisance.
