Shocking Photo Shows S’pore Construction Worker’s Leg Pinned Under Excavator In Tampines
A shocking photo has been circulated on social media showing a man with his leg pinned under a massive machine.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was informed of an accident that took place at Tampines Avenue 9 at around 11.10am.
An excavator had toppled over during a lifting operation. Unfortunately, the victim who is believed to be a foreign worker was close-by.
You know how the story goes.
The excavator pinned his left leg on the ground.
What’s most frightening is that the machine looks insanely heavy and must have crushed his leg. Another orange coloured excavator was later used to free his leg.
You can see the man lying on his side while other workers surrounded him. Later, he was rushed to Changi General Hospital where he was treated, although his current condition remains unknown.
The worksite is managed by Huationg Contractor and The New Paper reports that Ministry of Manpower (MOM) is currently investigating the incident.
In the meantime, all excavator operations at the site has been halted.
Amidst the drastic increase in worksite accidents, more needs to be done to ensure the safety of these workers.
