Yesterday was the first time Covid-19 cases in the community soared up to the double digits again after weeks of zeros to nines.

Now, before you go:

Goody translation: are we going to go back into CB?!

Don’t worry.

Turns out, 13 of the 15 community cases reported yesterday all lived together with a previously-confirmed case.

They had stayed at a shophouse at Veerasamy Road in Little India.

The remaining two cases are also close contacts of earlier-confirmed patients.

One is a housemate at Bendemeer Road and has been on quarantine since 30 May.

The other is a household contact and has been on quarantine since 7 May.

What Does This Mean?

It basically means that, at least for these 15, there are no further clusters out there that the government doesn’t know about.

You have to remember that the entire reason why we went into CB in the first place is to detect and contain previously-unknown clusters.

That’s why other than the number of cases in the community, the authorities have said that they are monitoring the number of unlinked cases in the community.

Chances are if this figure was to explode, we’re going back home for another month or two again.

Thankfully, that day isn’t today and MOH said that while the number of community cases has increased to 6 over the past week, the number of cases with no known connections remain stable at 2 for the past two weeks.

All 15 New Cases In The Community Are Asymptomatic

It was also revealed by MOH that all 15 cases are asymptomatic. Meaning, they don’t look like they have the coronavirus but they actually do.

MOH had swabbed them during their quarantine, as well as conducting serological tests, to verify their status and check whether the infections are past or current.

Out of the 13 patients, three tested positive for the serological test which indicates past infections.

Eight are negative (which means they’re current Covid-19 cases) and results for the remaining two are pending.

For the other remaining two cases, one of their serological tests returned positive.

MOH did not elaborate on the other case.

Make Sure To Follow Safety Management Measures Carefully

Wear a mask when you’re out. Make sure to keep a safe distance from others and do not socialise at work.

Don’t do it just because MOM is going all out in inspecting companies.

Do it because we all want life to return to normal (aka Phase Three until a vaccine is available) as fast as possible.
