We all need, or want to be, a hero in our lives.

But, let’s be honest here, that’s easier said than done.

How many times have you seen something happen right in front of your eyes, and you walk past as though you didn’t notice it?

Then, when everything is over, you’re berating yourself in your mind, wondering whether you should’ve offered your help.

Well, one man didn’t let his inhibitions stop him and his sister shared his experience on Facebook.

And, hoh boy, did it explode.

Sister’s Post About Brother Confronting An Uncle Who’s Handsy in MRT Got Over 40K Shares

On 16 Nov 2020, Facebook user Sabrina Low took to the social media platform to share her brother’s experience on an MRT train.

According to the man’s IG story, he was taking the MRT when he saw an uncle up to no good.

He was asleep with his hands and shoulders closed to a lady seated beside him.

He could allegedly tell that the lady was uncomfortable but did not dare to speak up.

At first, the man had given the uncle “the benefit of the(sic) doubt” since the man seemed to be fast asleep.

However, when the uncle woke up, he shifted closer to the lady instead of away.

Unable to take his antics anymore, the man stood up and told the uncle to remove his hand and shoulder from the lady.

The uncle complied but was allegedly unapologetic about the situation.

The man urges for all girls to speak up, saying that such disgusting behaviour should never be tolerated.

As for people who witnessed such incidents, he hopes that they will stand up for the victims.

Post Goes Viral

As of the time of writing the Facebook post has been shared over 41,000 times. Which is a lot for a Singapore post.

And little wonder, given how it’s not just the story, but the lesson that the siblings are trying to share with the world.

Pointing out how proud she was of her brother, Low said that there are many who believe in living righteously but do not have the courage to speak up for it.

“Evil prevails,” she said, “because righteous men and women remain silent.”

So speak up.
