It’s Phase Two and you feel like you can do anything.
Meet with friends and eat out:
Go to IKEA and sit on your favourite sofa:
And even go on a staycation with-
Otherworldly Voice: Hold up. What did you say?
Wha- Reader Bao, is that you?
Otherworldly Voice: Huh, how did you- I mean, no. I’m not Bao.
But who else exists in my head other than you?
Otherworldly Voice: Forget about who I am, let’s focus on the important thing.
Which is?
Otherworldly Voice: You can’t get a staycation in Singapore yet.

Staycations Allegedly Are Still Not Allowed Yet But F&B Outlets in Hotel Now Allows Dine-In
Yes, my dear readers, staycations are still nothing but a dream.
According to Milelion who saw a circular by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), hotels in Singapore were instructed not to accept any locals for a hotel stay unless they meet one of the criteria below:
- individuals whose current place of residence is not available due to home renovation;
- individuals who have sold their current place of residence but have not secured
alternative residence; - individuals whose existing rental lease have ended but have not secured alternative
places of residence; - returnees who completed their stay-home notice (SHN) at dedicated facilities but do
not have a place of their own as they do not ordinarily live in Singapore; or - healthcare workers who wish to isolate themselves from other family members living in the same residential unit;
- Green/ Fast-lane Travellers; and
- Travellers, including Long-Term Pass holders entering Singapore from 17 June 2020,
2359hrs, and who had remained in Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Hong Kong, Japan,
Macao, Mainland China, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Taiwan and Vietnamese in
the last consecutive 14 days prior to their entry, who wish to serve their 14-day SHN
in a Hotel.
STB said that they will inform the hotels again when staycations are allowed in Phase 2. Which means, there’s still a chance that staycay dream won’t need to wait until Phase 3.
Hotels are also told not to promote staycation packages during this period so as not to confuse the people.
On the flipside, if you’ve been craving for a certain hotel’s famous crabs, you can now enjoy it in Phase 2.
F&B facilities in hotels are allowed to let patrons dine-in again.
Bars & Lounges Allowed To Open
While entertainment venues outside of hotels like bars and pubs are not allowed to open, bars and lounges within hotels are allowed to operate again.
Similar to restaurants outside hotels, they cannot sell liquor or let people drink within the premises after 10.30pm.
There will also be no live video screenings or music.
Hotel spas will also be allowed to operate again with safety precautions in place, although not all hotel spas are likely to be open for business right away.
So if you’ve missed your night drink at the bar, watching a bartender (wearing a mask) make your drink while ambient music play in the background, you might just be able to.
Goody Feed has approached STB for their comments and will update the article when they reply.
