Singapore Influencers Throw Bar Wedding with Indomie Supper & 4kg Candy Buffet

Singaporean influencers @onericeplease recently celebrated their marriage at a cosy bar, instead of following the conventional Chinese wedding format.

Influencers Choose Friend’s Bar Over Hotel Ballroom for Wedding Celebration

The venue held special significance as it was the same bar where they first met. The location was a friend’s establishment that had recently reopened with a fresh concept.

Initially, the couple considered hosting a dinner event at an upscale restaurant. However, they found the quoted price “was not really worth it”. After visiting their friend’s bar and requesting a rough estimate, they decided the figures made financial sense.

The celebration featured a Y2K street-style dress code, creating a relaxed atmosphere for guests.

Money saved from choosing this alternative venue was redirected towards their BTO home renovation project.

Korean Dishes and Comfort Food Replace Traditional Wedding Menu

Guests enjoyed creative Korean cuisine prepared by a chef who previously operated a private dining service in Prinsep. This restaurant choice connected to the couple’s relationship history, as they had shared some of their first dates at this establishment.

The couple rejected traditional wedding games, which they described as “lame”. Drawing from their experience attending media events over the years, they selected engaging alternatives. Winners could claim real cash prizes from a communal pot.

Wedding Receives Positive Response from Social Media Users

The unconventional celebration attracted widespread praise from netizens, who flooded the Instagram comments section with positive feedback. The couple’s parents supported their creative approach to the wedding celebration.

Venue size limitations, however, did require the couple to restrict their guest count. They apologised to those who weren’t present, saying that they “all mattered”.

Natasha also offered advice for other couples considering similar alternatives: “It’s your big day, no one else’s, just do what you want.”
