The Criminal Investigation Department’s specialised crime branch arrested six men aged between 22 and 41 for alleged child sexual exploitation offences.
The Singapore Police Force announced on 22 May that all six suspects will appear in court on 23 May to face charges.
The arrests occurred between March 2023 and March 2025, and encompassed separate cases involving commercial sex with minors and possession of child sexual abuse material.

Commercial Sex
A 37-year-old man, who was arrested on 25 March, faces charges for allegedly engaging a young female victim for commercial sex.
Police investigations revealed he befriended the minor online before performing sexual acts on her.
He will face one count of commercial sex with a minor under 18 and one count of communicating with a minor under 18 for obtaining sexual services.
In another instance, a 25-year-old man was arrested on 5 July 2024 for allegedly engaging a young female victim for commercial sex.
The suspect made contact with the minor online before performing penetrative sexual acts on her.
He will be charged with eight counts of sexual penetration of a minor under 16.
Child Sexual Abuse Material
A 22-year-old man was arrested on 5 March 2024 after police allegedly discovered child sexual abuse material and obscene films on his mobile phone and computer.
He faces one count of possession of child abuse material and one count of possession of obscene films.

Three additional men were arrested for allegedly possessing child sexual abuse material on their electronic devices.
The 30-year-old suspect was arrested on 14 March 2023, the 41-year-old on 22 March 2023, and the 35-year-old on 18 March 2024.
Police found the illicit material on the suspects’ mobile phones, storage devices and computers.
Each man will be charged with one count of possession of child abuse material.
The penalties for these offences carry significant consequences.

Those found guilty of having sex with a minor between 14 and 16 years old may face up to 10 years imprisonment, plus a fine or caning.
Obtaining sexual services from someone below 18 years old carries up to seven years imprisonment, a fine, or both.
Possession of child abuse material can result in up to five years imprisonment, plus a fine or caning.
Possession of obscene films may lead to six months imprisonment, a fine up to $20,000, or both.
Police emphasised their commitment to protecting children from sexual exploitation and abuse, stating they will spare no effort in pursuing such cases and dealing firmly with offenders according to the law.
