A disturbing video showing a young boy being threatened with a knife by older students has sparked outrage across Singapore’s social media platforms.

The incident, which occurred on 6 Jul 2025, has led to the arrest of five teenagers and renewed calls for action against school bullying.
Knife-Point Bullying Video Shocks Singapore Online Community
The shocking footage shows a boy in a black shirt standing against a boarded-up area in what appears to be a forested location.
Two other boys approach the victim while voices can be heard in the background, with someone initially telling others not to pull out the knife.
A taller boy with an earring then produces a switchblade and presses it against the victim’s neck. The footage captures the victim being pushed against a wall while the butterfly knife is held to his throat.
The bullying escalates as the perpetrator verbally abuses the victim and slaps him.
Another boy, who appears to be recording the incident, joins in the harassment.
The victim is forced to carry out humiliating acts and eventually strips down to his underwear. The video ends with the boy being made to kneel on the ground.
The original video was posted on Facebook on Tuesday (22 Jul) at around 1pm but has since been deleted. However, it was re-uploaded to the Complaint Singapore Facebook group on Wednesday at 1:20pm, where it has garnered over 20,000 views.
Five Teenagers Face Rioting Charges in Singapore Court
Police confirmed that reports were lodged after the video of the incident began circulating publicly. Five male teenagers, aged between 12 and 15, were arrested on 10 Jul 2025 for suspected involvement in a case of rioting.
Two of the arrested teens, aged 13 and 15, were charged in court on 16 Jul 2025 with voluntarily causing hurt with common intention. The 15-year-old faces an additional separate charge for carrying an offensive weapon in a public place.
Police investigations continue for the remaining three teenagers involved in the incident.
The Ministry of Education confirmed that it is aware of the assault video circulating on social media platforms. “Such behaviour is not acceptable and has no place in our society,” an MOE spokesperson stated. “The perpetrators involved are under police investigations.”
The school attended by the victim has been providing support to the affected student and his family throughout the investigation process.
Netizens who viewed the footage have commented extensively, urging both schools and police to take swift action against such violent bullying incidents.
