A 41-year-old Singaporean man and his 38-year-old Malaysian wife were arrested at their rented house in Jasin Bestari, Melaka, on 26 May 2025 at 11:00AM.
The couple faces charges for allegedly distributing drug-laced vape fluids to schoolchildren across the state.
Melaka police chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar announced the arrests during a press conference at state police headquarters in Bukit Beruang on 27 May 2025. Officers from the Jasin district narcotics investigation unit conducted the operation after tracking the couple’s activities.

The newlyweds had been married for just three months before their arrest. They moved to Jasin Bestari following their wedding and allegedly began their drug distribution operations immediately after settling into their new home.
Drug Stash Worth RM32,650 Seized from Couple’s Home
Police seized a substantial cache of illegal substances during the raid. The haul included 127.5ml of ketamine believed to be intended for use in vape devices, 212 ecstasy pills, and 212 Erimin 5 pills.
Officers also confiscated 13.7g of methamphetamine, 10g of cannabis, and 80g of ketamine powder. The ketamine powder alone was sufficient to supply 786 drug users.
The couple’s car and motorcycle were also seized during the operation. The total value of confiscated drugs and assets reached RM32,650 (~SGD$9,899).
Both suspects tested positive for methamphetamine during initial screening procedures. Preliminary investigations revealed they had been actively distributing various types of drugs across Melaka state for three months.
Social Media Marketing Targets Vulnerable School Students
The drugs were marketed through social media platforms and close personal contacts, according to DCP Dzulkhairi. This distribution method potentially exposed younger and more vulnerable audiences, including students, to the illegal substances.
The couple distributed drugs in multiple forms including vape liquids, pills, and powders. Their operation specifically targeted schoolchildren through the drug-laced vape fluids.
Both suspects have been remanded for seven days to assist ongoing investigations. They face charges under Section 39B of Malaysia’s Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
