Suspect Denies Allegations as Investigations Continue

Police investigations into the case are ongoing.

This isn’t the first case involving a Singaporean at a Japanese bathhouse. In 2024, former Ministry of Foreign Affairs diplomat Sim Siong Chye was convicted of filming a naked boy at a public bath in Tokyo.

Sim was fined 300,000 yen (S$2,700) by a Tokyo court for voyeurism after authorities found multiple photos of nude men on his phone.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs subsequently dismissed Sim from his position in April 2024, resulting in the loss of his diplomatic status.
