Kulai district police chief Tan Seng Lee told the media that the group of four cyclists had been riding together when the accident occurred.
The road where the crash happened is known for heavy vehicle traffic, especially from lorries serving a nearby quarry.
Road Condition and Official Response
The Malaysian Minister of Works, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, said that the road surface at the accident site showed โcrocodile crackingโ, a pattern of interconnected cracks caused by repeated overloading from heavy vehicles.
He noted that although road shoulder upgrades were completed earlier in the year, the damage reappeared quickly due to the frequent passage of lorries.
