A tragic collision in Johor Bahru on 20 July 2025 resulted in the deaths of two men: a 27-year-old Singaporean passenger and his 48-year-old e-hailing driver.

Collision Details and Circumstances
The fatal accident occurred at 11:27am on Sunday morning along the route from Johor Bahru towards Skudai.
The victims were travelling in a Perodua Bezza when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle.
The car crashed into the rear left side of a Mitsubishi Fuso lorry. The lorry was reportedly carrying out tree-watering works at the time of the collision.
North Johor Bahru district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Balveer Singh, confirmed the sequence of events in an official statement released on 20 July.
Casualties and Medical Response
The e-hailing driver sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Singaporean passenger, who also suffered serious head injuries, was rushed to Sultanah Aminah Hospital but died while receiving medical treatment.
The 28-year-old lorry driver, a local Malaysian man, escaped injury in the incident.
Photos and videos circulating online captured the aftermath of the crash, showing the extensive damage to the vehicles involved.
Malaysian police have launched an investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act. The case focuses on causing death due to reckless and dangerous driving.
