A 29-year-old Singaporean man who disappeared during a morning jog in Malaysia was found safe by local police after a 15-hour search.
He Wenhui, a financial manager from Singapore, went missing on 7 Jul 2025, just two days after his wedding on 5 Jul 2025.

Morning Jog Turns Into Search Operation
He Wenhui went for a morning run near a park close to his father-in-law’s house in Sungai Long, Kajang, at around 5:00am on 7 Jul 2025. The district sits approximately 22km south-east of Kuala Lumpur.
At 5:02am, He sent videos to his wife via his phone, telling her he would be home in ten minutes. However, he became uncontactable after 5:17am.
Security footage captured He leaving the house that morning. He was wearing a grey top, white shorts, and red slippers when he went out.
He’s father-in-law, Wu Linggen, told China Press that his son-in-law frequently visited their home and often took the family dog for morning runs. On that particular morning, He went out alone.
When He failed to return, his wife and in-laws began searching for him. His family and friends in Singapore also rushed to Malaysia to help with the search efforts.
During the search, a pair of red slippers believed to belong to He was discovered behind a gas station near the park where he reportedly went missing. Wu confirmed to Sin Chew Daily that He had been wearing those red slippers when he left the house.
Police Investigation Reveals Personal Reasons
Sungai Long police assisted the family in locating He at around 8:00pm on 7 Jul 2025. He was found near Kuala Lumpur in good physical and mental health.
Kajang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Nazron Abdul Yusuf revealed that He had taken a ride-hailing taxi alone from the park to Kuala Lumpur for personal reasons.
“Preliminary investigations show that there is no criminal element involved in this case,” Nazron stated.
He’s parents, who were initially on their way back to Singapore, had rushed back to Malaysia upon receiving news of their son’s disappearance.
Wu noted that his daughter and son-in-law would be returning to Singapore the following day. He declined to respond to reporters further as the case remained under investigation.
Wu also urged the public to respect their family’s privacy and refrain from speculation about the incident.
