Singapore Driver Assaults Malaysian Driver After Honk in Johor Bahru

A physical altercation broke out between a Singaporean driver and a Malaysian at a shopping mall car park in Bukit Indah Garden, Johor Bahru, on 1 May 2025.

The incident, which occurred around 4pm, was caught on video and later spread on social media through the Facebook group JB TRACER II.

Singapore-Registered Car Driver Lashes Out After Road Blockage Dispute

According to witnesses, the Singaporean man was blocking the road in an open-air car park when a local driver honked at him.

This upset the Singaporean driver, who then got out of his Singapore-registered vehicle and confronted the Malaysian driver.

The video footage shows the Singaporean man punching and beating the local driver while a female passenger in the Malaysian’s car can be heard shouting vulgarities during the attack.

A woman in the local driver’s car recorded the incident, capturing the entire confrontation.

She later stated that they had honked at the Singaporean driver because he was blocking the road, which triggered his violent reaction.

Bystander Intervention and Police Investigation Underway

The fight was broken up when a passerby stepped in to stop the attack.

The good Samaritan separated the two men and escorted the Singaporean driver back to his vehicle, after which the Singaporean man drove away from the scene.

The Iskandar Puteri police have confirmed that both parties involved in the altercation have filed reports at the police station.
