Most people agree that they carry out their duties fairly majority of the time, and any issues with the law arenโt to be taken out on them.

But clearly, the messenger can be unpopular among some wrongdoers, who also didnโt get the memo about not cursing at, spitting, kicking and hitting civil servants who are only doing their jobs.
Today, we focus on six men and their individual crimes against park officers, paramedics and police officers that have been reported, so that you wonโt anyhowly abuse them.

- Date: 7 April 2018
- Details: He was caught littering along North Bridge Road, and responded by bumping and pushing the NEA enforcement officer who checked him. He could have just joined the pink gang.
Richard Tan Han Woon, 20
- Date: 8 July 2018
- Details: He was caught fishing illegally at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, and responded by pushing and using his elbow to hit the arm and chest of the officer from NParks. Must be some good fishes.

Manoher Ramanan, 27
- Date: 4 January 2019
- Details: Pushed and spewed vulgarities a police officer who stopped him at a roadblock along Hougang Avenue 8. Is he on high tide or what?
Randhir Nehru, 38
- Date: 4 January 2019
- Details: At the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum in Chinatown, he hurled vulgarities at and kicked one of the police officers on the cheek.
- Other Charges (non-exclusive): Being drunk and rolling on the ground shouting loudly in a public place. Thatโs like a domestic cat.

Kulbir Singh Raghbir Singh Vigil, 28
- Date: 1 January 2019
- Details: Was seeking medical treatment at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) when he assaulted a Singapore Civil Defence Force paramedic by headbutting him. Now, thatโs a cat.
- Other Charges (non-exclusive): Threw a flower pot down a block of flats and was drunk at Marymount MRT Station.

- Details: Cursed and spit at police officers in Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). Poor officers.
Possible Sentences
According to TODAYonline, the police said on 15 May that it has โzero tolerance towards such acts of violence against public servants who are carrying out their duties and will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly disregard the lawโ.

Using abusive language against a public servant carries a maximum punishment of 12 monthsโ jail and a S$5,000 fine.
Anyone convicted of voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from their duty can be jailed up to seven years, fined, caned, or receive any combination of the three as a penalty.
Anyone convicted of using criminal force against a public servant in the discharge of their duty can be jailed up to four years and fined.
