With whack filters that can transform your face in its entirety, as well as sharing functions that are ideal for all your Instagram exploits, it’s no wonder people have been particularly enchanted by the app.
The second coming of Snapchat, if you will.
Well, that escalated quickly.
But here’s the thing
While Faceapp’s undeniably a pretty slick application to hold on to, one thing has somewhat complicated its presence on your phone:
Theories that the Russian-made app’s actually stealing your identity, personal information, etc. etc.
Now, honestly, I don’t know how to feel about that. I mean; having my identity leaked to the guys over in Russia?
I hope they won’t be too grossed out.
Then again, it could have just been plain discrimination. Would you say the same thing if the developer is from the US?
But hey, on the bright side, that’s not exactly the worst thing that could happen. No. Probably. Rather, the worst thing that could possibly happen…

According to a Reddit thread, Yusof Ishak has officially been subjected to the Faceapp treatment. And well, judging by the results…
It seems that you might just see that dude on your money note in a whole new light.
Having gone through several slick Faceapp transformations, the Yusof Ishak we all know and love now comes in the form of:

- Hiker at the Grand Canyon

Incidentally, over in the comments section of the thread, Netizens were busy interjecting some witty comments to make poor Yusof feel a little better.
Meanwhile, some threatened to call the cops.
Whether the complaints worked, however, is really up to anybody’s guess.

With the onslaught of privacy warnings in regards to Faceapp’s regulations, you would expect usage to decrease, if not significantly then at least subtly.
And indeed, some, including public faces, have denounced the app since revelations arose.
But that’s just one side of the coin. On the other side, Forbes has reported an incredible 561% jump in downloads for Faceapp since news broke.
Well, I’m sure somewhere in Russia, people are cheering.
But that’s a story for another time, I guess.
