Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
In addition to Tom Holland and Zendaya, these are just some of the megastars that fans will see in the latest Spider-man movie, No Way Home.
With it being the most hyped Marvel movie in quite some time, it was therefore unsurprising that a teaser trailer that dropped in August garnered over 13 million views in its first five hours on YouTube.
And in just a few days, No Way Home will screen in cinemas here.
So, what can we expect from the 27th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)?
Everything About Spider-Man: No Way Home That’ll Be In Theatres from 16 Dec
One of the reasons superheroes keep their identities anonymous is to prevent their enemies from hurting them and their loved ones.
More importantly, it gives you an air of mystery, which is really cool.
In this Spider-man movie, however, everyone knows who Peter Parker really is. No Way Home is essentially an exploration of how Parker deals with this newfound “fame”.
Here’s the synopsis:
“For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighbourhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be a Spider-Man.”
Tries Using Magic to Make Everyone Forget; Makes Things Worse
In the August teaser trailer, Parker enlists the help of his Marvel compatriot Doctor Strange and persuades him to cast a mysterious spell that will help the world forget Spider-Man’s true identity.
But in the latest trailer, Doctor Strange makes it clear that this just made everything worse. Much, much worse.
“When you botched that spell where you wanted everyone to forget that Peter Parker’s Spiderman, you started getting some visitors from every universe”.
Some fans have speculated that this refers to the Marvel multiverse, which is a collection of all the dimensions and parallel realities that exist in the Marvel world.
This is why some old enemies of Spider-man have come back to defeat him.
If you want to know what happens next, well, you’ll have to watch the movie, of course.
Some fans believe that the latest Spider-man instalment is based on an edition of The Amazing Spider-man comic called One More Day.
In the 2007 comic, Peter Parker has been outed as Spider-man, and his Aunt May is in a coma after being shot. He makes a deal with the devil to save her, but ends up ruining his love life in the process.
