First, we’ve Andy Hui from Hong Kong, who made headlines for cheating on his celebrity wife Sammi Cheng. Then we’ve Carrie Wong from Singapore, who allegedly dated a non-celebrity but was close to celebrity Ian Fang.
What’s missing?
Someone from Malaysia, of course.
But this time, it’s a Singaporean actor who committed his infamy in Malaysia.
Meet Aliff Aziz.
Aliff…Who?
I won’t blame you if you don’t know who Aliff Aziz is.
After all, the 28-year-old won the Anugerah 2007 when he was 16, and after a few shows in Mediacorp, he had to serve his NS.
And upon ORD-ing in 2011, he moved to Malaysia to further his showbiz career.
So we Singaporeans didn’t see much of him.
But he’s still carrying a pink IC, and that why he’s still relevant.
And most importantly, the popular singer is…popular in Malaysia.
Singing & Acting
Over in Malaysia, he came out with two more albums, and one of his singles’ music video even received a whopping 1 million views in less than 24 hours of release. In addition, he’s become an actor as well, making him a popular celebrity up north.
And in September 2016, he broke his fans’ heart when he married his girlfriend whom he has been dating for about two years. Known as Bella Astillah, whose full name is Dayang Ara Nabellah Awang Astillah, Bella was then a broadcasting undergraduate when she became Aliff’s wife.
So, everything’s good…except this:
And I kid you not: this’s what you’ll see in Aliff Aziz’s Wikipedia Page (at least at the time of writing).
Here’s how he got that title.
Cheating Started One Year After Marriage
In July 2017, Bella found Aliff alone with actress Nur Afifah Nasir in a KTV room. Aliff was touching Afifah’s hand, and it was alleged that Aliff was so angry, he assaulted his wife.
Afifah then called for a press conference and said this: “I admit it was my fault for letting him touch my hand and apologise to Bella for that.”
Okay, moving on…
Second Scandal Happened This Year
In February this year, Aliff was linked to yet another actress, Oktovia Manrose.
Interesting enough, it was Bella who caught the alleged cheating again: she posted about an alleged party at a nightclub between Oktovia and Aliff.
Oktovia then said on Instagram, “To @bellaastillah (Bella), I don’t want to put up a fight anymore. I apologise for everything that has happened. I admit I shouldn’t have gone out with a married man.”
However, she claimed that she and Aliff were just friends, and challenged Bella to come out with proof that they were more than friends.
But Bella wasn’t taking any of it.
She told Aliff to sort out the problem or leave the house. Aliff chose the latter.
Third Scandal on 14 May 2019
Just four days ago, photos and a video of Aliff being in an intimate position with a 17-year-old girl, with Aliff not wearing any top, were leaked online.
It was allegedly leaked by a friend of the girl as she owed the friend money. Here’s what the friend wrote:
“Oh God Nismel (name of the girl). Don’t you feel sorry for his wife? You still haven’t paid me, and now you do this!”
Bella then said this publicly: “I’ve decided to go on without Aliff. I want to do this for our son.”
Moral of the story? Don’t go out with a married man. If you really cannot tahan, at least return whatever money you owe lah.
One More Scandal to Nail It
Two days later, another set of images were leaked, this time showing Aliff with a 31-year-old former model from Jakarta who now lives in KL.
The woman has posted on Facebook to confirm that it is indeed her, but she mentioned that the images were taken years ago. Also, they were not in a relationship, though two images show them kissing.
Whether the images were taken before Aliff was attached / married or after that, only Aliff and she know.
But that was enough for Bella.
Officially Divorced on 16 May 2019
Bella filed for divorce on 21 March 2019, and the couple was officially divorced on 16 May 2019.
The reason for the divorce?
“Because my husband always cheats on me.”
Apparently, they had been living apart for more than three months.
Aliff would need to pay RM1,000 to Bella monthly in maintenance for their two-year-old boy.
Well, now you know why Aliff’s listed in Wikipedia as “cheater”, eh?
Here’s a simplified summary of the South Korea martial law that even a 5-year-old would understand:
