S’pore Car Allegedly Chased by a M’sia Car in JB for 10 Mins

“I don’t chase; I attract.”

In an ideal situation, this would mean the right person with come into your life and bring you happiness. But sometimes, the universe has its way of reminding you to be careful what you wish for.

Being Chased

By some weird twist of fate, one Singaporean attracted the wrong person. While on the road. In a car. in Malaysia.

More accurately, they were briefly living out of their Mission: Impossible fantasy as they were being pursued by an unidentified white automobile while on the roads of Johor Bahru (JB).

According to the OP who spoke with MS News, the chase happened on Monday (Nov 7) night and began along Jalan Ismail Sultan near Anjung Nusajaya and lasted a good 20 kilometers away, around Jalan Tun Abdul Razak.

His pursuers were in a white car, and despite the darkness, the OP was able to recognize the outline of at least three people inside the car.

In the Facebook post, the OP contacted his cousin who resides in JB about his predicament.

He explained that the people in the other car had attempted to halt his car, but instead of stopping and talking it out, his cousin persuaded him not to stop driving.

Similarly, the video shows the white car purposefully “brake-checking” the driver. The cousin assess that the pursuers were likely trying to employ a tactic to get the OP to pull over so that they could rob him. His relative continued to advise by suggesting the OP head to the nearest police station.

The location was later switched to a coffee shop because OP wasn’t familiar with how to get to the station. By chance, the route to the said coffee shop had a heavier traffic flow.

And that was enough to get the pursuers off their tail, as they left through a side road after OP left the highway and entered into a busier traffic road. Overall, the whole chase lasted for a frightening 10 minutes.

Sketchy People on the Road

The OP ended the post with a learning lesson for us, which is that if this happens to you, do not stop and either go to the police or a busy area.

He’s right, but I think we should just keep an eye out for any weird happenings just in case, and for a valid reason.

Just last month, a Singaporean couple was allegedly stopped by a police officer while in JB and asked to pay RM500 in “fine” before being let go. The “officer” claimed that the couple had run two red lights, hence the fine.

Turns out, the police officer was real, but not the alleged crime. A lesson learned here as well: Be careful of dubious police officer conduct too.
