There are some things in life you think you’d never see.

Like an old man in a hoodie skateboarding while live streaming on Tik Tok.

Or a 5-year-old choping a table at the coffee shop with a packet of tissues.

I’ve never seen these two things happen, and unless something dramatic happens in the next 70 years, I’ll probably never seen them happen until I die.

But then again, I never thought I’d see a car crash into a playground, so who knows?

According to The Straits Times, the police say they were alerted to the incident at Block 134 Jalan Bukit Merah on Friday at 11.58pm.

Driving under influence of drugs & without a licenseĀ

The police said that the man did not have a valid driving license.

Not only that, they suspect he was driving under the influence of drugs.

That’s a shocker. I just thought he made the rational decision of crashing into a playground sober, like we all do sometimes.

The 27-year-old was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and for the use of criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty.

Injuries

Thankfully, it was midnight, and so no kids or amorous teenage couples were at the playground.

The only one who sustained any injuries was the driver, but they were minor.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was also called for assistance.

“A man in his 20s was assessed by the paramedic for minor injuries, but he subsequently refused conveyance to the hospital”, SCDF said.

Extensive damage

The playground, however, wasn’t as lucky. The accident caused extensive damage to the playground and the metal benches nearby, as you can see in this video.

Yes, one of the metal benches actually toppled.

Imagine you’re a playground, minding your own business waiting for the sun to rise so cute kids will come and hang out with you when a speeding car crashes into you.

Other playgrounds all over the nation must be shaking in fear.
