Well, this might just do the trick.
Facebook user Loo Fook Weng Albert recently posted a video on the social media platform, showcasing just how much one could save if he/she quits smoking for a year.
And suffice it to say that the results are nothing short of…
Wondrous.
The Smoking Experiment
According to the user (who’s a non-smoker), his saving method consists of one to a few hundred bucks in a couple of days, with an average of $15/day set as the basis.

You can view the video in full down here.
But for those who can’t afford to risk their 4G playing it, let me just provide a brief synopsis of the video:

A man spends 51 whole seconds opening a tin can, before spending the next 8 seconds pressing on the surface of the tin. Thereafter he finally opens it, and in a fit of jubilant triumph proceeds to empty it all onto the surface of the table. You then realise that oh, damn, you just spent a whole minute watching someone open a tin can. Also, there’s a whole load of cash on the table.
Whew.
Yep, that’s about it.
Viral
Subsequently, the video started spreading like wildfire; and collected 188K views and 3.3K shares at the time of writing (6 Sep).
Incidentally, while some Netizens were quick to tag their smoker pals. some also questioned the video’s premise.

While some outright called the guy out.
But hey, we choose to believe the guy.
Even if it does get a tad bit shady at times (no pun intended).
But of course, let’s face it: he’s a non-smoker, so he probably just put money in the tin. It’s all about the message, ladies and gentlemen.
In case you’re not aware, that’s about $5,940 saved in a year.

Then again, do note that $15 a day for cigarettes, according to my smoker friends, isn’t the average: each pack costs about $10 to $13, and one pack can usually last for about two days.
