For those unaware of who Melody Yap is, here’s a quick intro: apart from operating as a local influencer, she’s also known as the wife of Brad Lau (LadyIronChef).
Yet, it’s precisely this beautiful union of two beautiful people that created this whole fiasco in the first place.

For over the last couple of months, derogatory comments about their marriage have surfaced on the Singapore Hardwarezone forum, including hints that Lau’s being, or might be cuckolded.
According to Mothership, the comments were derived from Yap’s previous Instagram stories, which reportedly showed her partying with her male friends.
Sounds like speculations from the web, alright.
And Melody Yap takes action
While some of her peers might’ve opted to wait it out, Yap chose to go on the offensive. And as viewers of her Instagram stories would surely attest to…
She spared no mercy.
Declaring that the derogatory threads have since been removed, Yap proceeded to fire a warning to all “who have been talking irresponsibly online”.
Including, of course, the ones who allegedly started the entire saga. Announcing that she has all the necessary IP addresses in possession, she expressed that she could actually obtain all their personal details… legally.

On the same day Yap announced her intentions on Instagram, a forum user known only as Fat_Auntie posted an apology directed at Yap.
Wishing Yap’s marriage well, the user apologised for some “assumptions and speculations” about Yap, and declared that the other users will, too, stop posting on the forum.
But if the user thought that the apology will offer some sort of closure to the whole ‘settlement’, he/she was seemingly wrong in their conjecture.
After the apology was broadcasted online, Netizens were quick to remind Fat_Auntie that an apology’s as good as admitting to making the defamatory remarks in question.
In fact, as kuti-kuti puts it, the apology’s nothing but an admission of guilt. Right now, it’s only a matter of how much compensation Yap’s entitled to.
