Man Beat Dad Up With Metal Pole Cuz He Used Same Tissue To Wipe Nose and Mouth
37-year-old Foo Shun Xiang was a jobless man living at Chai Chee Road with his parents. He was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and cannot stand dirt and contamination.
He was also a stubborn man who refused to take the medication prescribed to him.
On 28 Jan at around 11 pm, he saw his father wiping his nose and mouth with the same tissue.
Immediately losing his temper, he grabbed a 1.2m aluminium pole and started beating his father, 68-year-old Foo Sah Leong, with it.
Even after his father started bleeding, he did not stop.
When his mother, 65-year-old Chow Ah Lee, tried to intervene and stop him, he turned on her instead with the metal pole.
He hit her multiple times until it broke, and he threw it down the rubbish chute.
No Remorse Shown, Asked Parents To Go Shower
Sometimes, things might’ve been done in the heat of the moment. And sometimes, when your anger passes, you’ll feel bad about what you did.
Not Foo Jr.
Oh no.
After the beating he had given them, he ordered them to go take a shower because “they were covered in blood”.
At about 5 pm the next day, his mother complained about having a severe pain in her left rib cage.
He allowed them to go to the hospital but threatened them to keep quiet about what really happened.
Instead, he ordered for them to tell the medical personnel that they were robbed and beaten by “dark-skinned foreigners”.
“He admitted he wanted his parents to lie on his behalf so that no police reports would be made against him.”
When Mdm Chow was inspected at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH), she was found to have three fractured ribs.
Things Came To Light After A Nurse’s Concerned Gesture
So, how did the sick actions of this man come to light? The parents did as instructed by him.
According to Straits Times, a nurse who attended to Mdm Chow lodged a report about the “robbery” on 31 Jan.
At first, Mdm Chow told the police the same story, that they were robbed by “dark-skinned foreigners”.
But the next day, she told them the truth. And much more things were uncovered.
He Had Physically Abused His Parents Multiple Times
Foo Jr. was diagnosed with OCD back in 2009. And from 2009 to 2018, he had physically abused his parents at least four times.
He was very controlling towards his parents and would monitor their every action.
They had to obey several cleanliness ‘rules’ and clean to his satisfaction.
If they were found to have disobeyed him, he’ll hit and scold them.
His parents were afraid of him as he would turn violent suddenly. They did not even dare to report him to the police as he said he’ll beat them up if they ever do so.
Foo will be back in court on 23 Oct to be sentenced. It wasn’t clarified if the mother will be charged for lying to the police.
