S’pore Man Spoilt Market By Creatively Proposed with Cars on Rooftop of HDB Carpark

There’s an unspoken rule amongst Bros: if you do anything even remotely romantic, don’t post it on social media.

Reason being, your friends’ girlfriends or wives might see it, and this WW3-style conversation would take place that night:

Girl: Why is your friend so romantic and you’re so wooden?

Guy: Wait, what?

Girl: Your friend cooked Hokkien Mee for his girlfriend! And you?! You bought Maggi Mee and asked me to cook for you!

Guy: That cheese—

Girl: WHAT?!

And if you’re married, you’ll spend the night in the living room because one of your Bros have just broken the Bro Code.

I guess Facebook user Dave Lim didn’t get the memo, because he posted such a romantic proposal, it upped the game for all boyfriends who think that saying “Eh, want BTO or not?” is the most romantic gesture ever.

But wait…there’s a twist.

Because it seems like Dave Lim isn’t the one who proposed.

It’s all…business?

Read on.

Facebook Post That Got Viral for Obvious Reasons

If you can’t read, here’s one single word that carried more weight than a dumbbell:

Now, here’s the thing: Facebook user Dave Lim tagged another person, Mr Ng Zhao Wei, who’s the real VIP of the show.

Yeah, so it seems like Zhao Wei does know the Bro Code. His friend was just helping him.

But jokes aside, congrats to Zhao Wei!

Boyfriend came out with the idea

According to Mothership, the couple is able to see the entirety of the HDB carpark rooftop from the girlfriend’s 19th storey flat. As his car is fully LED and looks nice when it’s lighted at night, he came up with the idea after recalling a video he saw online.

With the help of his friends from Facebook Group Elantra Club Singapore, they pulled it off perfectly.

And the lightings? It was done by Dave Lim, the boss of a lighting car workshop.

Ah…there you have it. It was a business decision that has Bros as collateral damage, but hey: it’s nicely done, so Dave decides a pat on his back, too.

By the way, of course she said yes.

And they’ve ROM-ed, too. Fast seh.

Whoever is looking to propose in recently weeks or months: please don’t share this article.

And as for girls, feel free to share it so your bae would know that he can do even better than saying “Eh want BTO or not?”
