S’pore Pimp Earned $43,000 From Advertising Thai Prostitutes On Online Forum ‘Sammyboy’

If you’ve been frequenting online forum ‘Sammyboy’ for the last two years, you might’ve encountered some rather ‘questionable’ postings.

More questionable than your average questionable posts on Sammyboy, anyway.

Well, if you’ve been keeping up with those postings in question, you might be glad (or sad) to know that they’ve come to an end.

According to TODAYonline, Singaporean Lee Si Hong has pleaded guilty to six charges under the Women’s Charter, and one other charge of “abetting a Filipino woman to work as a self-employed foreigner” under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.

He worked for a prostitution ring for around two-and-a-half years, running three brothels and publicising the services of sex workers on online forum Sammyboy.

It’s believed that the 38-year-old had pocketed profits of at least S$43,785 through these activities until he was arrested in September last year.

The Year 2015

To get a better understanding of how the entire crossover works, however, we’ll have to go back to the year 2015.

A year so cemented in deep history that we fail to remember what it was all about.

But anyways, according to reports, it all started in the year 2015 when Lee reportedly first got to know someone identified only as “Boss”, who was based in Thailand. That same year, Masilang Teodora Mista, the Filipino woman we surreptitiously skimmed over earlier on, contacted Lee.

It was not specified how they knew each other.

After introducing her to “Boss”, Mista swiftly arrived in Singapore in October that year and was subsequently issued a work permit.

The next year in April, he consented to help to bring Thai women into Singapore for prostitution.

Sexy Photographs

Before the prostitutes commenced their “intern” here, Lee made sure to liaise with them first, sorting important matters such as:

  • The arranging for their travel
  • Briefing them on the details of their working arrangements
  • Sexy photographs of themselves

Thereafter, he advertised the prostitutes’ sexual services on Sammyboy. According to TODAYonlineat least nine prostitutes were involved in the syndicate.

Additionally, Lee also made the bookings, ran the three brothels assigned to him and personally retrieved the prostitutes’ earnings daily. On the other hand, Masilang worked to clean the prostitutes’ lodgings, restocked items such as condoms and lubricants and picked the women up from the airport.

Step aside, Batman and your sugar baby Robin. There’s a new power duo in town.

According to reports, the prostitutes charged their clients between S$150 and S$160 for two rounds of sexual services in a 90-minute session. They typically operated from 10:30am to midnight every day.

However, they are tasked to service roughly two dozen clients without being paid, before they were eligible for an S$80 payout for every client they serviced afterwards. The rest of their pay went to Lee, and they were given S$20 daily for their meals.

From April 2016 to April 2018, Lee was paid S$1,000 every month for his work in the syndicate. After that, he split the profits proportionately with Boss.

On the other hand, Masilang earned between S$800 and S$1,500 a month. She forked out her own monthly maid levy and corresponded with Tan every month to hand him some money based on their agreement.

The Raid That Ruined The Greatest Collaboration Of All Time

On the day of the arrest, the police raided all three brothels simultaneously. Lee and two prostitutes were caught at one of the brothels, while six more sex workers were apprehended at the other two.

Thereafter, the authorities raided Lee’s vehicle and home, seizing around S$3,000 in cash, several iPhones and boxes of condoms, among other items.

The next day, police officers apprehended Masilang and Tan Yong Chong, the man who had chartered her as his foreign domestic worker.

Sentencing

In court, the prosecution sought at least two years’ jail and a fine of S$56,000, stating that the brothels “clearly encroached into residential areas” and “created unease within neighbourhoods”.

In his mitigation, however, Lee’s lawyer asked for 18 months’ jail, pointing out that Lee’s married to a foreigner with two children and had begun working for the syndicate in order to pay for his stepdaughter’s international school fees (as she was not eligible to enrol in a mainstream school).

“He has no previous convictions at all. This financial hardship drove him to earn this meagre income… it is unlikely that this law-abiding citizen will ever re-offend again,” the lawyer added.

Another 18 charges will be taken into account when Lee’s sentenced on 22 October 2019. He remains out on bail of S$25,000.
