I thought that being let off the hook by the popo in exchange for… favours only happens in the movies.
Or at the very least not in Singapore because of how strict the rules and regulations are. But oh how wrong I was.
S’pore Police Officer Doesn’t Arrest Women Avoid In Exchange For Oral Sex At Carparks
A staff sergeant with the Singapore Police Force (SPF) has been charged with multiple offences.
These offences include reportedly abusing his authority to satisfy his sexual needs from at least two female suspects.
In exchange for them helping to scratch his itch (if you know what I mean), he assured that he would help one of the women avoid getting arrested or face any criminal prosecution.
He assured the other woman that he would help her with her employer’s questions and investigations against her.
And without further ado, the man in question is none other than 31-year-old Mahendran Selvarajoo.
He was charged on Friday, 29 November with multiple offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act and Computer Misuse Act.
Accused Of Receiving Oral Sex And Intercourse
So exactly what misdeeds did he do?
Mahendran allegedly received oral sex and intercourse from a woman at a multi-storey car park in Serangoon on 30 April in exchange for helping her avoid criminal prosecution.
In a separate incident on 27 February, he received two handjobs from another woman at yet another multi-storey carpark.
This one was to help her with her employer’s questions and investigations against her.
In other incidences dating way back to November 2017, he was found with 46 “obscene” videos and 26 photos in his phone and USB flash drive.
He reportedly copied videos and folders from laptops and phones belonging to women and uploaded them to his personal devices.
How has he not been caught all this while?
Suspended Since 15 May 2019
The Corrupt Practices Investigations Bureau (CPIB) said in a statement that they will not hesitate to take firm action against those who are corrupt, “including public officers who abuse their position of authority to cause undue harm to the public and tarnish the image of the public service.”
According to Channel News Asia, he has been suspended since 15 May 2019.
Those who are convicted of a corruption offence can be jailed for up to five years, fined up to $100,000 or both.
