And lest you’re wondering, the recruitment notice is reportedly genuine.

Apart from a high level of fitness, mentality and professionalism, potential candidates must also have played at least five years as a full-time professional football striker, and have a proven goalscoring record in professional-level domestic and continental competitions sanctioned by FIFA, UEFA and/or AFC.

Prior development in a professional academy setup, as well as a willingness to be a role model for younger players, are also required.

Several local strikers have since been brought up for discussion, with Khairul Ami being one of them. The striker came off the bench to score the winner and his first goal of the season during the Tampines Rover’s opening game of the 2017 AFC Cup campaign.

However, he’s currently plying his trade in Malaysia, which may leave things to be desired.

And so, with that said, it’s time to pursue your footballing dreams.

Right here, right now.
