As much of some of us might have loved school, waking up in the early hours of the morning while it is still dark and dragging our way to class can be quite sian.
And if your form teacher walks into class looking like someone just killed her pet dog, you’re going to be even more sian and it would probably affect your entire day.
Don’t you just wish for a little bit more positivity to start the day off with, and not just live with the deadpan collective ‘good morning’ you greet your teachers with?
Well, this school found a wonderful way to make their students’ day a little brighter, starting from when they come in to class first thing in the morning.
Good Morning!
In a Facebook video shared by DPS Primary Blossoms, an international school in Singapore, students can be seen lining up neatly to greet the teacher one by one.
Here’s the heartwarming video – but be warned, you may not want to watch it somewhere you’re not supposed to be watching it at, for you’ll end up uncontrollably smiling at how cute it is!
The students can get to choose from four different greetings by tapping the option they want on the poster on the wall – a hug, a handshake, a hi-five or a special dance. After which, the teacher will lead them to do the actions together.
Regardless of whichever option they chose, it seems to spark much joy for both the students and the teacher!
Aww, look at the happy little smile of this girl who chose a hug! It’s even brighter than the sun shining outside :’)
This precious bean who chose a special dance where she and the teacher wiggled their hips was so ecstatic to do it that she couldn’t help squeeing and bouncing in excitement either.
SO. ADORABLE!
The school has since uploaded yet another video of another teacher greeting her students in the same lovely manner after the first video made waves around the Internet.
Good job, DPS Primary Blossoms!
I think just by watching these videos in the morning, my day would already be happier!
Positive Makes Positives
This practice was first started in a kindergarten in Wisconsin, USA.
And now, it has made its way to our shores, as well as other countries like Thailand.
Hopefully, other schools in Singapore will start to adopt this wholesome form of morning greetings.
Starting from kindergarten, where children can practice positivity starting from a young age and have it follow them even when they grow up.
Maybe I would’ve been more enthusiastic to go to school every morning if my school had adopted this practice, but oh well.
But I’m 101% sure I don’t want this practice to be adopted in Goody Feed. People vomit when we see our boss walking in; I can’t imagine him dancing.
