Recently, popular vlogging channel Nas Daily headed down to our sunny shores and spent some time here, during which he did a few videos, and recorded film footage for a video he would later title The Almost Perfect Country.
Incidentally, you can check out the video down below:
I put my heart and soul into this video. I hope you it inspires you like it inspired me. It's the story of the country that impressed me the most out of all the countries I've been to. I hope their story gets you more excited like it got me more excited.Because if they can, then we can. And thank you to Project Nightfall and Dear Alyne for going on this journey with me.

9.5 million views. That’s a lot of views, FYI.
However, it turns out that Netizens didn’t quite agree with his views, as quite a number of them aired less than positive comments in the feedback section. Which is fine and all, seeing how everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, except for one thing: most of those Netizens, if not all, are…
Singaporeans.
Which makes you wonder what the hell’s wrong with Singaporeans, really.

And then something unthinkable happened. A Singaporean made a parody of Nas Daily’s video, not in contrast, nor in support, but rather a ‘light’ satirical take that focuses not on the nation…
But the Citizens.
With shots that mirror the original almost scene-for-scene, and the familiar talking archetypes we’re used to (heck even the intro is the same, though she might be CSI-ed out and kena lim-kopi-ed by TP), the video is honestly what we need, but don’t deserve.
You can view the video down below:
THE ALMOST PERFECT PEOPLE THO ?? [NAS DAILY PARODY]Nas Daily, SORRY YOU FOUND OUT SINGAPOREANS ARE NASTY. Hosted by Facebook page Memeaporean, or more specifically Carrine Low, the 4-minute clip explores the many ‘intricacies’ of the nationality known as Singaporeans.
Also, the video threw quite a lot of shade- references while at it. In fact, the number’s so damn high I didn’t actually bother keeping track because I’m Singaporean.
As such, I’m privileged af so screw you guys; I’m not keeping track of the number for you.
But since I’m a nice Singaporean boy, here are some of the more hilarious- eloquent ones I uncovered.
Amos Yee made a “cameo”!
Some 50 shades of Eden
And the ever-charismatic, sexay washboard master…
Truly, it’s one video that explored so many of the finer things in life I can’t help but shed a manly tear.
But beneath it all…
Beneath all the running gags, references, motion shots that make you think of Charlie and Amos Yee’s fabulous brilliance…
Lies a very concise, directional message.
Singaporeans, contrary to what they think, are actually pretty entitled. In fact they’re so entitled that Netizens made a fuss over this.
But seriously, that’s one heck of a serious discussion: Where the heck is Nasi Lemak Burger? Why does it becoe a Nasi Lemak Kit Kat instead?
Which makes you wonder whether Singapore, in actuality, is really as Nas said:
An almost perfect country.
Though the only difference here?
It seems that the Citizens aren’t the almost perfect ones.
Or as Carrine would probably put it (in the most sincere tone imaginable)…
They’re the most perfect beings on Earth.
I need to wear sunglasses now, thankew very much.
Response
For the record, response to the video has been nothing short of phenomenal. Despite being published just yesterday, Memeaporean’s video has garnered well over 1K likes and reactions, as well as 2.5K shares.
What’s more, it’s not exactly negative publicity at work as well, as the comments section features such responses:
And these.
Though to be fair, there are some less than complimentary answers as well.
But like this guy so wisely said…
So yeah, maybe that’s the answer after all.

In the meantime, local humour platform SGAG has just did a parody as well:
Nas Daily might have moved on to China, but the Nas Fever is still strong here.
