According to the World Health Statistics report by the World Health Organization, Singaporeans outlive most nationalities, and even do so in full health.

Singaporeans Ranked Third For Life Expectancy

In fact, they are ranked third in the world for average life expectancy, behind Japan and Switzerland.

It’s not even that far away too; Singapore’s rate sits at 83.1 years, while Japan and Switzerland stand at 83.7 and 83.4 respectively.

As for healthy life expectancy – the number of years people live in full health – Singapore comes in second, right behind Japan.

Japan leads with a 74.9 years statistic, while Singapore sits at 73.9. South Korea follows right behind with 73.2.

The life expectancy between opposing genders was also rated, and it was found that the global average for men was 69.1 years, while women live an average of 73.8 years.

In Singapore, males can live up to an average age of 80.1 years, and females can live for 86.1 years.

Those are not the only tests Singapore performed well in the World Health Statistics too! (If only we performed this well in the Olympics. But it’s alright, we’ve got the indomitable Joseph Schooling to salvage our asses and faces).

Singapore’s Gross Expenditure on R&D Ranks Second

Singapore’s gross domestic expenditure on research and development (R&D) in health and medical sciences as a percentage of gross domestic product comes right behind South Korea, while they stand jointly at the top for theĀ proportion of births attended by skilled health personnel.

They top the list for lowest mortality rate attributed to unintentional poisoning too!

One of the Lowest Mortality Rate For Various Causes

For the lowest road traffic mortality rate, they came in thirdĀ and took fourth for the lowest mortality rate attributed to air pollution, lowest mortality rate attributed to cardiovascular or chronic respiratory diseases, as well as lowest mortality rate attributed to unsafe water or lack of hygiene.

I guess Singaporeans are really ‘Kiasi’, huh?

They have even become one of the longest-living citizens in the world! Who says being ‘Kiasi’ is a bad thing?!

But now you know the moral of the story, right? Must save up. #LifeHack
