Squid Game’s all the rage right now, and for good reason. Essentially a survival themed thriller, the drama highlights several real-life issues such as trust, friendships, sheer circumstances and death.

Screw you, Sang Woo. But yeah, you get the gist.

As such, it’s only understandable that we would want to personally experience the game too, though we would, of course, prefer not to be shot if we fail a game.

But how, you wonder.

Well, multiple renditions of the game have since been posted on various platforms. Roblox, for instance, has a pretty slick minigame that looks like the real thing.

But if you’ve explicitly sworn off Roblox for some reason, no worries;

There is still the Instagram version to play with.

Squid Game Themed Instagram Filter Allows You to Play Red Light, Green Light by Yourself

I’m sure everyone uses Instagram. Me, you, your parents, my parents, Ah Hock from across the street and Ah Moo from the recently fined KTV.

They all use Instagram. Probably.

But here’s the thing; did you know that there’s a Squid Game filter that’s accessible only on the social media platform?

Yes folks, it’s time to play Red Light, Green Light.

Essentially an augmented reality filter, the filter allows you to play the classic game, either by yourself or with your friends.

Set against a backdrop that looks exactly like the original, there’s the all-too-familiar giant animatronic figure staring at you, with a red-suited staff member on either side of it. Meanwhile, you’re taking on the role of a figure in a green tracksuit.

To increase the authenticity, your face will be superimposed onto the figure. But don’t worry, you won’t die for real if you get shot at in the game.

I think.

How to Play the Game?

To play the game, simply switch to selfie mode and tap the screen.

Thereafter, you’ll have to blink to progress. To stop, you have to, as my parents would put it, “open your eyes big big.”

And if you fail to keep your eyes open at the wrong moment? Well…

You die.

But of course, you’ll get unlimited tries so you can definitely get back at that giant doll.

You can try it here. Do take note that you’ll need your mobile for this game.
