Starbucks fans rejoice! Introducing a new drink to the menu, this time, is their smooth small batch Cold Brew Coffee from 27 July 2016.
If you’re wondering what the difference is from a regular iced coffee, here’s what you should know. Not a typical Kopi O, the process taken to get such a smooth beverage requires the selection of roasted coffee beans before spending a huge amount of time and patience during the brewing. Slowly brewed to perfection, the drink gives off a strong flavour of coffee yet a slightly sweet aftertaste.
Using time, 20 hours, in fact, brewed in room temperature instead of the usual Kopitiam process of mixing coffee powder and scalding hot water, the drink is slowly achieved to a standard worth the time taken.

Another question many are curious about is why Starbucks is branding the drink by using the term ‘small-batch’. The term meant that this specialty coffee will only be brewed one batch per day and served till the batch runs out. Also considered limited edition for the day, many lucky coffee lovers have been getting their hands on this slow brewed coffee over ice.
Said to be served unsweetened to highlight its naturally sweet taste, with chocolatey flavour notes of citrus, it stands out from the usual iced coffee which is served lightly sweetened to get a refreshing, light taste of coffee with caramel notes.
A Tall is priced at $4.90, Grande at $5.40 and Venti at $5.90. Grab your cold brew coffee at the nearest Starbucks outlet and try their liquid gold now!
