Another day, another reveal of National Day flavours.
While other brands might be content with releasing 2 or 3 Singapore flavours, Starbucks ain’t stopping with just that.
Did you know in Mandarin, people used to call (and some still do) Singapore 星洲 (star region)? So you bet Starbucks might feel a little affinity with our country.

(that the other word in Starbucks is bucks is also appropriate but I guess it’s another topic.)
Quick, how many stars are there on the Singapore flag? 5? That’s right, they are introducing 5 new items. And that’s still not counting the crescent moon. Oui, they got 5 local flavours and 1 new and improved recipe.
Well, whether they introduced these with that in mind I don’t know, but it is a nice coincidence.
Hainanese Chicken Rice Quinoa Salad Served with Ginger Chilli Dressing
Can’t talk about Singapore flavours without talking about Hainanese Chicken Rice right?
How do you hipsterise Chicken Rice? You swap out the rice with cauliflower rice and quinoa. Then topped with poached chicken slices, achar, cherry tomatoes, chicken skin crisps and a ginger chilli dressing.
That’s right. A chicken rice salad that sounds healthy.
Laksa Croissant Bowl
But if you’re already sian of eating chicken rice, they got more choices with Laksa Croissant Bowl.
Yeah, replacing the rice noodles with buttery flaky croissants. If there’s anything about cooking, “adding butter” is never the wrong choice. A prawn, hard-boiled egg and laksa leaves are then placed on top of the soft croissant bowl.

Satay Chicken Roll
Chicken and pineapple chunks with nutty satay sauce, sandwiched between lightly toasted soft buns.
Hold up, pineapples? Now that’s a rare addition—some satay stalls grate pineapples into their satay sauce.
Cookies and Cream Cheesecake Sandwich
Before you go off after eating the main meal, they have desserts too.
Based on our ice cream sandwich, they took cookies & cream cheesecake and put it in between light rainbow sponge cake to make it look like our friendly ice cream uncle’s snacks.
Or maybe you’re the type to have wafers with your ice cream instead. In which case…

Raspberry Swirl Wafer Cheesecake (left) & Blueberry Swirl Wafer Cheesecake (right)
Like the other, technically not ice cream sandwich. Perhaps even better: Cream cheese swirled with tangy raspberry or blueberry with crispy wafers.
Shiok-ah-ccino
Don’t forget to then wash it all down with a drink and say Shiok!
Which is exactly what this drink does:
Inspired by Singapore’s ice cream sandwich, this Shiok-ah-ccino makes a comeback with a new recipe. Vanilla cream Frappuccino with chocolatey chips, waffle crisp and a Shiok! chocolate topper.
You know what’s also good? Each Venti-sized purchase comes with a Shiok reusable straw and straw clip set, while stocks last.

Time to head to Starbucks?
All these are already out.
You know what that means.
