Picture this: You’re about to make the last kill which would make you a “maniac”.
Suddenly, your Wi-Fi connection is disrupted and your character ends up walking straight to the enemy base.
Note: You can’t use your data because it has already exceeded the limit for the 3rd time.

Relatable?
Well, today is your lucky day because I’m here to be your light at the end of the long and lonely tunnel.
Sim-Only Plans
Back in 2017, Circles.Life shook up the entire Telecommunications (Telco) Industry in Singapore as they made an entrance with their insanely affordable no-contract mobile plan.
Also, can we just take a minute to applaud their brilliant marketing tactic which was a huge success with the help of local influencers, Michelle and Charlotte (aka Youtiao666). #notsponsored
As time passed, more big players in the industry started to hop on the bandwagon and offer mobile plans with zero contract.
Decisions, Decisions
Taking the first step is not always easy, especially since you’ve been loyal to a certain telco since the very beginning.
With so many choices available in the market, how do you go about getting the best bang for your buck?
Take a deep breath and calm down because like Obama, I got your back.

After a long research, I’m proud to present my findings i.e. an overview of what you should know about the base SIM-only plans offered by big boys such as StarHub, Singtel, M1 and Circles.Life.
*Expires in 12 months. After which, Singtel plans will return to the Base Data Plan.
Fun fact – In case you haven’t heard, StarHub has replaced their traditional mobile plans to those without contracts as of December 2018.
Can’t see it ‘coz it’s too small? No worries, we’ve put it down to words so that I can hit my word limit it’ll be clearer.

StarHub
If you’re a heavy social media user, especially on weekends, you’d be pleased to know that StarHub has an exclusive benefit – unlimited weekend data! Now you can show-off your weekend plans hassle-free and party the night away without worrying about exceeding the data limit.
We recommend going with StarHub if you want a telco with no strings attached. For $25 a month, enjoy 13GB of data, free incoming calls and unlimited data on weekends.
Of course, if you’re a heavy data user, you can top up with their latest deal, in which you get 50GB for a mere $20.
Singtel
Singtel is ideal for those who don’t mind sticking around for 12 months.
With a monthly subscription fee of $20 a month, users would receive 20GB of data, 500 SMS and incoming calls absolutely FOC (free of charge). Best of both worlds and more in my opinion.

M1
For those who are ok with committing for 1 month, and something more consistent, opt for M1.
Going for $20 a month, M1 offers 15GB of data, coupled with free incoming calls and complete with a free SIM card (what a STEAL)!
And if 15GB isn’t enough for you (what have you been streaming?), you can top up $5 for 25GB of data.
Circles.Life
Last but not least, if you spend more time chatting on WhatsApp than over the phone, the most cost-effective option would be from Circles.Life.
For $28 each month, enjoy 20GB of data and UNLIMITED Whatsapp usage. Though, hide this news from your parents to avoid an increase in their video spams on Whatsapp.
And of course, their latest “unlimited” plan has shaken the industry, and this could mean that this list would be outdated soon as telcos provide even more bang for the buck.

Regardless of which telco you end up going with, each has its pros and cons so don’t sweat over just the numbers!
