There is a special place reserved in hell for people who hurt children.
And for those who raped their stepdaughter…repeatedly?
Well, you’re booked for over a thousand years of prison.
M’sian Sentenced to 1,050 Years in Jail For Raping his Stepdaughter for 2 Years
On 27 Jan 2021, it was reported that a man was sentenced to spend 1,050 years in prison.
His crime? For raping his stepdaughter 105 times within two years.
Judge M Kunasundary, who sentenced the man to 10 years’ jail and two strokes of the cane for each charge, called his offence “abominable”.
The man has “blighted” the child’s future, he said.
“I hope you will repent while in prison. You should not have committed a violent act and although the punishment is minimum, the court feels this is sufficient by taking into account the number of charges against you.”
The man will also be given 24 strokes of the cane.
Threatened & Hit Victim
The man first raped the girl when she was 12 years old on 5 Jan 2018.
He continued his inhumane actions until 24 Feb 2020.
According to court documents, the girl’s biological parents had divorced back in 2015.
Her mother married him in Nov 2016.
During the period, the girl had not told anyone about the rapes as the man had hit and threatened her.
It was only after the mother had brought her and her younger sister to their aunt’s house that she revealed what happened.
The rape incidents took place only when she and her stepfather were home alone.
Strong Penalty Requested
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Qistini Qamarul Abrar had earlier called for the judge to give a heavy custodial sentence and the maximum strokes of cane to the man.
This is due to the public interest on the case, he said.
As the stepfather of the victim, the man should’ve been “responsible” for protecting her instead of destroying her “self-worth”, she asserted.
“His action will cause life-long trauma to the victim.”
She went on to add that incest cases are “appalling” and should be taken seriously “at every level of society, regardless of religion”.
The man, who wasn’t represented at the trial, did not appeal his sentence.
