Stingy M’sian Father With 2 Wives Allocates Just $2 To Autistic Child’s Daily Meals

It’s hard enough to find a good, filling meal with $2, so imagine if you only had $2 to cover your breakfast, lunch and dinner. Impossible right?

Well, apparently not to this Malaysian father who plans to give his wife only $2 to spend on each of his autistic kid’s meals.

Let’s think about what $2 can get us. Maybe a cheap plate of chicken rice? Two buns from a bakery? Or a chicken burger from McDonald’s? OK, but is this enough to sustain a child for a full day?

I think we all know the answer is definitely no. There is no way that $2 a day is enough to give a child a well balanced and nutritious diet.

Malaysian Lawyer, Suriati Ab Ghani, who is better known as Puan Su, shared a Facebook post detailing information about a case that she was working on.

This case involved her client whose husband married another woman, so she requested some childcare allowance from him to look after her autistic child.

According to World of Buzz, when he was asked to write out a proposal for the amount of money he thought he should be giving her, he put ridiculously low amounts of money for each category.

For food, he decided that it was enough to allocate her $0.66 for each of her son’s meals.

For clothes, his son will be getting $6.66 to revamp his wardrobe.

And for his son’s special needs classes, he was only going to give his wife about $33 to help pay for it.

In total, he felt like he should only be required to pay about $100 for childcare allowance.

OK, but maybe the father can really only afford to give his wife $100 right?

Well, Puan Su went on to talk about how most fathers in the cases she dealt with will claim exactly that. However, it is no excuse.

A father should put the needs of his child first and should not marry another wife if he cannot afford to support his own kid, to begin with. She then went on to say that if anything, he should scrimp on his own unnecessary expenses first rather than on his child’s basic living expenses.

Puan Su also goes on to advice mothers who are experiencing this problem to take a look at their husband’s income in close detail to find because there’s a chance there is a solution there.

She also adds that if this will not happen if the father is a responsible person.

We agree with Puan Su completely. Cause to put it frankly, $0.60 for one meal? Even if the father wanted to kiam siap, this is being way too ridiculous lah.
