If you were anywhere on TikTok recently, or even just social media in general, you’ve probably heard of the new hit game “Black Myth: Wukong”.
The game has received high praise for its 3D animations. However, the 3D animations appear to be both a blessing and a curse — a Chinese streamer recently puked on his livestream while playing the game, due to motion sickness caused by the 3D animations.
Streamer from China Livestreams “Black Myth: Wukong” Gameplay; Pukes from Motion Sickness
On Tuesday (20 August), a streamer from China, Zhang Daxian, was not so pleasantly surprised as he hopped onto his livestream on the video platform BiliBili to try out the newest game in town, Black Myth: Wukong.
One hour into playing the game, the streamer could be seen covering his mouth and his eyes widened as if he was shocked by something in the game.
But he wasn’t shocked by anything — he was just feeling unwell. Those watching his livestream also noticed that he had to take several breaks from the game.
At one point, the motion sickness from the game’s animations got to the point where the streamer even had to puke.
It was so dramatic that you might have thought it was staged.
If you’ve already tried the game or watched some gameplay videos on YouTube or TikTok, you might have an idea why — the animations in the game are fast-paced and intense.
So, if you want to try out the new game, what we’ll say is that the game is not for those who can’t stomach it lah, literally.
“Black Myth: Wukong”: What’s All the Hype About?
If you haven’t heard of Black Myth: Wukong, you might be wondering what exactly the hype around this game is all about.
Well, the game is inspired by the legend, Journey to the West.
Yes, that Journey to the West — the one you had to read as a child or risk getting scolded by your mother tongue teacher in front of the entire class.
The game allows players to control a monkey character based on Journey to the West’s Sun Wukong. However, in the game, Sun Wukong isn’t known as Sun Wukong. He has a much catchier name — the Destined One.
In the game, you get to control the Destined One through a series of battles and challenges as well as go on a journey to recover lost relics — much like the storyline of the Journey to the West legend as well.
You can find out more about the new game here.
