Strides Premier has introduced new cross-border taxi booking options, allowing passengers to secure rides between Singapore and Johor Bahru through an online form for the first time.
The recent move expands booking choices beyond hotline calls, signalling an adjustment to changing travel patterns and convenience demand.
Cross-Border Booking Details
Strides Premier’s website states that bookings must be made three to five days in advance.
This pre-arrangement is subject to vehicle availability and is positioned as an option for those who prefer structured travel plans.
Pricing and Charges
The fare structure is transparent and fixed, with most Singapore-to-Larkin rides costing S$80.
A ride starting from Changi Airport or Seletar Airport to Larkin Terminal will carry a higher fee of S$120.
Special pick-up points like Ban San Street Terminal offer trips to Larkin for S$60.
Meanwhile, passengers booking in advance for rides from Larkin back to any location in Singapore will pay S$70, but those without a booking pay S$60 for the same direction.
Trips from Larkin to Ban San Street Terminal are listed at RM120 (~S$36.48 as of 22 Sep 2025).
Additional Surcharges and Conditions
Travellers should be mindful of administrative fees.
Payments using credit cards incur an extra ten per cent administrative fee on the metered fare. Cashless payments, such as via NETS, come with an S$0.30 fee.
Other surcharges apply for locations like Changi Airport, Mandai, or Sentosa, ranging from S$2 to S$8 depending on the destination and timing.
City area surcharges and late-night or peak period premiums may apply for non-flat-fare rides.
Booking and Availability
To book a cross-border ride, passengers now fill in an online form found on Strides Premier’s website under the taxi service section.
Bookings remain subject to taxi and driver availability. Additional stops within Singapore are charged by meter.
Riders need to account for possible Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) charges, which are calculated based on the actual journey taken.
About Strides Premier
Strides Premier was established from the merger of Strides Taxi and Premier Taxis, formally announced on 13 Apr 2023.
With a fleet numbering about 2,500, the firm is Singapore’s second-largest taxi operator after ComfortDelGro.
The industry has shifted as point-to-point ride demand climbed back to near pre-pandemic levels, and operators looked for new ways to meet changing commuter habits.
