These days, if a student is tired of going to school, they just get vaccinated.
Students Will Be Given MC on Days They Get COVID-19 Vaccine
Today, Education Minister Chan Chun Sing said that registration for the COVID-19 vaccine will be open from 5 Jan 2022 onwards for those between Primary 1 to 3. This affects pupils in the Ministry of Education (MOE) schools and madrasahs.

For other pupils in the age band, registrations will be open from 6 Jan onwards.
The opening is pushed by the growing number of COVID-19 cases infected with the Omicron variant.
Here’s the thing he also added: Pupils who are vaccinated on a school day will be given medical leave. This is to encourage parents to register their children for weekday vaccination slots.
The Ministry of Manpower has also urged employers to give their workers time off to get their children vaccinated.
40% Registered: P4 to P6
Lest you’re not aware, the vaccination invitation has been opened to pupils who will be in Primary 4 to Primary 6 in 2022. Over 40% of those who were invited registered for the vaccine.
December slots were fully booked by the children’s parents. Mr Chan considered the response towards January 2022 weekend slots to be “very good”.

Children Vaccination
Vaccination is now open to all children between the ages of five to 11 who are Singapore citizens, permanent residents and long-term pass holders. This covers about 300,000 children.

Vaccination centres that offer both adults and children vaccination have put in place several measures to ensure the correct age group get the correct vaccination dosages – 0.2 millilitres for children as compared to the 0.3 millilitres for adults.
Some of the measures include different coloured caps for the vials containing vaccines. Children will also be injected with shorter needles as compared to adults.
There will also be a separate queue lane for registration, vaccination, waiting and observation areas.
Currently, children are only allowed to be vaccinated with the Pfizer-BioNTech/Cominaty COVID-19 vaccine.
Some of the centres have plans to ramp up the manpower according to the demand while doctors will also be on rotation. Staff have also been trained to vaccinate younger children.

They were also taught how to handle those who have needle-phobia and emergency drills.
