Geylang may be an infamous red-light district, but what people often forget is that it’s also the best supper spot in Singapore.
Kind of synonymous-sounding, but that’s beside the point.
The main point’s that whether it’s dim sum, frog porridge or the classic tze char, Geylang is brimming with good food…
And it looks like dessert cafe Sweet Hut is set to continue that trend.
Big time.
There’s a New Super Instagram-Worthy Dessert Place in Geylang
Open till 4:00 a.m. daily, Sweet Hut reportedly proffers desserts such as mango sago, durian mousse, and even bubble tea. And yet it’s not just Sweet Hut’s delectable fare that’s making waves.
The aesthetic value of the place is nothing to be laughed at either.
Apart from an eclectic backdrop and funky decor, the place is also stocked full with tatami and birdcage seats.
No, not kidding. You’re literally sitting within a birdcage.

Incidentally, bar seats are also available for those who love people-watching across the streets.
Meanwhile, walls are adorned with colourful and sprightly designs, with pink neon lights shining through to the exterior.
And to truly capture that sweet supper experience, there are even entertainment options in the form of foosball tables.
Dessert and foosball in the same night?
Don’t say bojio ah.
Sweet Hut
But of course, aesthetic value alone does not make a supper spot.
In the end, the food has to be of reasonable value and quality too.
Thankfully, Sweet Hut has fulfilled both sides of the equation with finesse, having rolled out a choice selection of sumptuous desserts.
Sporting both traditional and modern desserts, Sweet Hut’s menu boasts the likes of Snow Fungus Soup with Pear ($4.30) and Lotus Seed Soup (S$5.80), as well as more atas-sounding desserts such as Bird’s Nest (S$28) and Shredded Bird’s Nest and Mango with Coconut Milk ($15).
In addition, durian lovers will surely be stoked to know that Sweet Hut offers seven durian-related desserts, including Musang King Durian Mousse ($9.90), Durian Sago ($6.90) and Golden Fried Durian ($6.90).
Meanwhile, for those looking for more filling options, they can go for Sweet Hut’s Golden Mee Sua ($4.90), or tantalise their taste buds with the Otah Bun (2 for $2.90) or Fried Otah ($3.90).
Milk teas are also available in an assorted variety of flavours – caramel, vanilla, peach, strawberry and many more. They start from $2.90.
Toppings are available at $0.60 each.
