Sylvia Chan Reveals She’s Involved in Ng Kok Song’s Campaign with Gushcloud

The Night Owl Cinematics (NOC) saga may have happened some time back, but Sylvia Chan remains very much in the social media scene.

Last week, the influencer revealed she was involved in Ng Kok Song’s presidential campaign. And she wasn’t just there to make videos about “10 Types of Presidential Candidates”; she was there to lead a team of “social media warriors”.

Here’s what you need to know about it.

Ng Kok Song Shares Message Thanking Singaporeans & Others

On Saturday (2 September), while most Singaporeans were out celebrating with their pineapples, former GIC chief investment officer Ng Kok Song was busy crafting a message to thank Singaporeans for their support in the Presidential Elections 2023 (PE2023).

ICYMI, here’s the heartwarming message written by the 75-year-old:

Mr Ng opens the message by sharing about his conversation with our now-president, Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

“I just received a phone call from Mr Tharman saying that my team and I had put up a vigorous campaign and I in turn congratulated him on a magnificent victory,” he wrote.

Mr Ng then re-emphasised his goal in standing for the presidency—ensuring Singaporeans have redeemed their right to vote in PE2023. And clearly, from the 400,000 votes garnered by the candidate, he has fulfilled his goal.

He then thanks his voters, character referees and assenters, the team behind his presidential campaign, family, and fiancee.

Perhaps the most adorable thing is this: the candidate even thanks his two pets—his pet dog Cotton and pet cat Max.

Aww.

The candidate also congratulated Mr Tharman for earning his presidential mandate from Singaporeans; it’s no easy feat being the most popular president in Singapore’s history.

Heartwarming, indeed.

Sylvia Chan Reveals Her Involvement in Ng Kok Song’s Campaign with Gushcloud

But something else that catches our eye is this: a comment left on the post by Sylvia Chan—a recount of her experience working with Mr Ng and expressing her gratitude for him.

Yes, you read that right.

The Sylvia Chan worked with the Ng Kok Song for his presidential campaign. I guess YouTube really can take you places.

“Ma, when I grow up, I want to be a YouTuber!”

According to Sylvia, who currently works in the influencer marketing agency Gushcloud International, she played a pivotal role in Mr Ng’s campaign—managing his social media platforms.

We’ll give credit where credit is due. Mr Ng’s social media pages are pretty good, and I guess we have Sylvia and her co-workers to thank for that.

Or, as Sylvia herself puts it, Mr Ng’s “team of social media warriors”.

“[I]t has been my joy and honour to lead your team of social media warriors. Every content we’ve worked on taught us values that you also modelled and demonstrated to us on the ground – lessons of humility, generosity, genuine care and concern for everyone around you,” the NOC co-founder wrote.

From leading NOC to leading a presidential candidate’s team of social media warriors, that’s quite a considerable development.

The influencer then recounts an example of how Mr Ng embodied these values. Be it after a tiring walkabout, interview, or a live stream, Mr Ng never failed to show his gratitude for Sylvia’s work at the end of every campaign session.

Ah… What a supportive work environment.

“With this presidential campaign, you have definitely won the hearts of many Singaporeans,” Sylvia added.

Well, even if it wasn’t during the presidential campaign, reading this message, you can’t help but have your heart won over by the candidate.

Or, as other Singaporeans would put it, this message “warms the cockles of our hearts”.
