Sylvia Lim, the chairwoman of the Workers’ Party, is set to marry her long-time partner Quah Kim Song in January 2025.

Lim confirmed to CNA about the wedding, and that the ceremony “will take place in church, in the presence of family members”.

Following this initial confirmation to CNA, Quah provided additional details in a separate interview with AsiaOne, where he revealed that their marriage will be solemnized at the St Mary of the Angels in Bukit Batok.

So yes, they didn’t reveal it on social media, unlike your friends who show off their 1-carat diamond ring #justsaying.

The couple has been in a relationship since 2013, marking almost 12 years together.

Lim is 59 years old while Quah is 72 years old.

Quah Kim Song is a notable figure in Singapore’s sporting history, having been a former international footballer who played as a striker.

Known for his swift agility, he earned nicknames like “Mercurial,” “Quicksilver,” and “Speed Demon”.

He was previously married to Shirley Wang, a bank manager at OCBC and former member of the Honeydrops music group, who passed away from cancer in 2007.

Sylvia Lim, on the other hand, has had a distinguished career in politics as a Member of Parliament representing the Paya Lebar division of Aljunied GRC.

She has been the chairwoman of the Workers’ Party since 2003 and made history as the first female opposition MP in Singapore’s post-independence history.
