In Feb 2019, a Singaporean couple flew to Taiwan, allegedly gave birth and threw their dead baby into the bin before making their way back to Singapore.
Now, more than one year later, the pair has made the news again, albeit, not because of their alleged actions, but more of a status update.
S’porean Couple Who Abandoned Baby in Taiwan Got Married & Was Slammed Online
According to Sin Ming Daily News, the Singaporean couple is getting married.
The man, Wang, had successfully proposed to his girlfriend, Guo, in a hotel room recently and shared the happy news on Instagram.
At around the same time, Guo had also shared images of her celebrating her birthday with a few friends in the same location.
Unfortunately, according to the Chinese daily, it seems that the photos were not well-received because a second check by the reporter revealed that the man has taken down his post…for obvious reasons.
A Second Pregnancy?
In the image of the proposal, Guo was wearing a fitting black dress which bulged around the mid-riff.
This led to speculations that Guo might be pregnant with another child.
Wanting to know more, SMDN attempted to interview the couple’s family and found out that the pair had moved away from their families about a year ago.
Son Only Comes Home Now And Then
According to Wang’s father, Wang moved out of the home after the incident in Taiwan.
He believes that Wang might have moved out to stay with his girlfriend, and the pair rents a room.
They do not get to see their son often, and he only comes back home once in a while with Guo to visit them.
When asked about his reaction to the proposal and alleged pregnancy, Wang’s father merely said that if the proposal is true, he will give his blessings.
As for the pregnancy, he is also not able to confirm the situation, but maintain that he’ll be happy for them nonetheless.
Daughter Has Not Been Home For Over A Year
In contrast, Guo’s father wasn’t as willing to speak to the Chinese daily.
He reportedly said he had no comments when approached by a reporter.
According to neighbours, Guo has not been seen since a year ago.
When shown the picture of the current Guo, neighbours admitted that she might have grown fat.
The Taiwan Baby Abandonment Case
According to news reports, the couple had arrived in Taiwan on 16 Feb 2019 and checked into a hotel located at Taiwan’s popular shopping district Ximending.
They had allegedly stayed in the hotel room for 8 days, and the abandonment of the child was said to have taken place on 26 Feb at 3.49am before they boarded a 4:30pm return flight on the same day to Singapore.
During the entire 8-day stay, it was reported by Taiwan media that the woman had not once left the hotel, whilst the man went on frequent supply runs to nearby stores.
The deceased child was apparently found in this back-alley inside a recycling bin.
Searching For A ‘Safe’ Place To Dispose Of The Body
In yet more footage procured by TVBS, these series of images cut from the video shows the 23-year-old man walking furtively along a dark alley.
In his hand is a black trash bag which allegedly contained the body of the deceased girl infant.
The body of the infant was subsequently found by a cleaner who had sliced open the plastic bag while clearing the area.
A check in the couple’s former hotel room found bloodstains matching with the DNA of the dead baby girl found.
It’s been more than a year but the Taiwan police are still investigating the case of the abandoned baby.
