As we come to the end of the year, another viral accident has occurred.
Everything About the Fatal Accident in Tampines That Has Gone Viral Online
Footage of what appears to be a red Mercedes crashing through a railing and hitting a few vehicles at high speed, including a motorcyclist, waiting at a traffic light junction has gone viral.
This happened about 11:10pm yesterday (23 December) at the junction of Tampines Avenue 1 and Tampines Avenue 10.
A footage posted on Facebook Page SG Road Vigilante – SGRV has garnered over 2.4k shares in less than three hours.

The aftermath of the accident shows that two cars were damaged so badly, their doors were completely dislodged.
According to the police, this resulted in 1 death and 4 injuries.
The person who passed on is a 59-year-old driver who was unconscious and conveyed to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Four other men, aged between 22 and 38, were conscious when sent to Changi General Hospital.
One person was trapped in a car and had to be rescued using hydraulic rescue equipment.
One male driver, a 33-year-old, has also been arrested for drink-driving. (UPDATE on 25 Dec: The police has clarified that he was arrested for dangerous driving causing death.)
According to a netizen, the red car was allegedly racing with another car and cornering at a high speed which led to the crash. This account is, however, unverified.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
