Apparently, one underwear thief knows all this too well too, which is why he took an extra precaution when out on a stealing spree.
Man Spotted Stealing Underwear At Tampines While Using Big Orange Umbrella To Hide Identity
On Wednesday, 1 Oct 2020, a man was caught on CCTV footage stealing underwear along a Tampines HDB corridor.
The most interesting thing about this incident, however, is how he used the umbrella to hide his identity from any CCTV in the area.
He seems to be pretty good at what he does.
After scanning through the drying laundry for a moment, he bent forward while making sure to keep his upper body hidden.
According to a report on Lianhe Zaobao, six pairs of underwear went missing that night, presumedly taken by the man with the orange umbrella.

Apparently, the CCTV had belonged to the family whose drying laundry was raided from.
The homeowner told the Chinese daily that the underwear stolen belonged to his wife and daughter.
It was his wife who first discovered the theft in the morning while she was watering her plants.
Police investigations are ongoing.
Not The First Time
The incident reportedly happened at Blk 340 Tampines Street 33, and as it turns out, it wasn’t the first time female underwear went missing.

Two years ago, underwear thefts had happened in the area too.
Just before the Circuit Breaker officially kicked in on 7 Apr, a 41-year-old man was arrested for stealing underwear in the Tampines area.
A woman had lodged a police report, and after extensive ground enquiries and CCTV footage, they managed to identify him and placed him under arrest.
When he was caught, they also found more than 2,500 pieces of women’s underwear in his possession.
Hopefully, the man with the big orange umbrella will also be brought to justice as well.
